He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter McReynolds and Mary McReynolds (Musgrave); and his wife Betty McReynolds. He is survived by : his former life partner Ruth Reynolds; his girlfriend Sondra Scott; his children, Anita Duckworth (Kevin), Dan McReynolds (Kim), Donnie McReynolds, Doug McReynolds and Susan McReynolds; his stepchildren, Sarah Ochoa (Jason), Rod Perry and Scott Perry (Donnalee); and his sisters, Ann McReynolds and Sarah Groves (Leland). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

A memorial has been established to Lucas and Monroe County4-H and FFA Programs.
