He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Mayo and Grace Mayo (Chilton); and his siblings, Helen, Beth, Louis and Malcom.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys E. Overturf; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Wood of Blakesburg, Helen Theulen (Bernard) of Blakesburg and Bettye Overturf of Arizona; and his nieces and nephews, Linda Roman (Al), Tim Overturf (Ann), Jeff Johnson (Ilene) and Susan Dake (Bruce). He is also survived by great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Blakesburg Fire Department, in care of Sinnott Funeral Home, 2030 Hwy 5, Albia, Iowa.
