She was predeceased by: her parent Ireta Ruth Frits (Martin); her husband James Stewart; her father Richard Frits; and her sister Janet Frits. She is survived by: her nieces, Marcia Celania (Dan) and Ruth James (Richard); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Danielle Huffman (D. J.), Ian Celania (Ashley), Chris Celania (Artur), Leah Raskie and Bryan Raskie (Jordan).

A memorial has been established to the Heartland Humane Society.
