It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Hogrefe of Albert City, Iowa, born in Storm Lake, Iowa, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bridget "Bridie" Mary Hogrefe (O'Brien) and William Hogrefe; his in-laws, James and Bernice Farrell; and his son Sherman Hogrefe.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hogrefe of Albert City, Iowa; his grandsons, Christopher Hogrefe (Amy) of Evanston, Illinois, Tyler Hogrefe (Laura) of Ankeny, Iowa and Colin Hogrefe (Michele) of Linn Grove, Iowa; his great grandchildren, Carter, Addyson and Caleb Hogrefe; and his grandchildren, Everett, Finn, Liam Hogrefe, Cael and Brandt Hogrefe. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
