Eric left this world on March 3, 2025 at the age of 43, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He is survived by: his parents, James Hallengren and Linda Hallengren of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; his sons, Alexander James Hallengren of Pine Island, Minnesota and Harrison Meryl Hallengren of Rochester, Minnesota; his family, Dana, Theresa, Eleanora and Ebba of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his friend Becky Sanchez (family: Jenna, Erin, Vinny, Gus) of Albert City; and his grandmother Betty Punke. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sliefert Funeral Home (708 Thomas St, Sioux Rapids, IA 50535).
