He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sr. Coon and Verna Coon (Dicus); his parents-in-law, Ray and Esther Zeitler; his brothers, Arthur Coon Jr., Frank Coon and Willis Coon; and his son Kevin Duane Coon.
He is survived by: his wife Edith "Edie" Zeitler of Le Mars, IA; his children, Patty Hoover (Kevin) of Lakin, KS, Brian Coon (Crystal) of Akron, IA and Norman Coon; his sister-in-law Eunice Zeitler of Sioux City, IA; and his nephew Randy (Glena Coon). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
