She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Vipond and Minnie Vipond (Allen); her husband Melvin Hitzemann; her son Gerald Hitzemann; her granddaughter Leanne Hitzemann; her son-in-law Bill Benning; and her siblings, Don Vipond (Betty), Verla Anderberg (Herb) and Shirley Anderberg (Norman).
She is survived by: her daughter Renee Lumley (Rich) of Nashua, IA; her grandson Levi Benning (Trista) of Plainfield, IA; and her great grandchildren, Rory and Eldon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home (601 Torbert Blvd, Akron, IA 51001). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
