He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Eldon, Viola Gabel, Dick and Alice Van Wyk; and his brothers-in-law, Travis Tentinger and Tyler Kratochvil.
He is survived by: his parents, Ernest'Ernie' Gabel and Debra'Deb' Gabel (Van Wyk) of Akron; his wife Haylee Kratochvil of Akron; his children, Rahlyn, Brystol and Ellyson; his sisters, Melanie Hall (Matt) of Sioux City, IA and Melea Nielsen (Luke) of Akron; his niece Laura Tentinger (Jesse); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Charlie and Jameson; his nephew Brandon Tentinger (Jerrica); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Colt of Akron and Elsie Mae of Akron; his nieces and nephews, Brett Tentinger of Akron, Megan Tentinger of Akron, Natalie Nielsen of Akron and Kasey Nielsen of Akron; his parents-in-law, Richard Kratochvil of Hawarden, IA and Debra Kratochvil of Hawarden, IA; his brother-in-law Dustin Kratochvil (Beth) of Springdale, AR; his nephew Samuel; and his niece Sarah. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. A prayer will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home - Akron (601 Torbert Blvd, Akron, IA 51001). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church - Preston Township (204 Anna St, Preston, IA 52069). A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery - Preston Township (204 Anna St, Preston, IA 52069). A reception will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Heeren-McHale-Wilken American Legion Post 724 (305 Oak St, Le Mars, IA 51031).
