It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James McKnight (Afton, Iowa), born in Roswell, New Mexico, who passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mikell McKnight, Jr. and Mary (Pierce); and his siblings-in-law, Bobbie McKnight and Max Tomlinson. He is survived by: his wife Laurie Lee Laney of Afton; his sons, Larry McKnight (Lori) of Polk City and Sam McKnight (Jill) of Afton; his grandchildren, Beth, Noelle, Colton, Savannah and Jamie; and his siblings, Bill McKnight of Breckenridge, TX, Marianne Rankin of Abilene, TX and Polly Tomlinson of Dallas, TX.
In 1986 Jim began a farm crisis bank consulting business until 1997 when he began farming and raising pigs full time with his son Sam until his Parkinson's diagnosis which mainly limited his work to the books and finances of the farming operation.
