He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth Ludwig and Leona Ludwig (Laidley); his siblings, Dennis Ludwig and Beverly McPhee; his brothers-in-law, Walter McPhee and Tom Farley; and his nephew Keith McPhee.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Ludwig of Casey; his children, Stephen (Kathy) of Maryville, Lori Ohms (Gary) of Anita and Diane Scholl (Joe) of Casey; his grandchildren, Nathan (Katie), Matthew (Carrie), Travis Ohms (Chabree), Nicole Inman (Jordan), Amy Tull (Bobby), Mark Ludwig (Brittany), Chelsea Coffman (Kyle) and Alex Buckner (Melinda); his great grandchildren, Chloe, Camden, Connor, Leah, Eden, Jase, Noah, Ryker, Addison, Isaiah Ohms, Braxton Inman, Lily, Ava, Piper Tull, Laken Coffman, Haidyn, Ruger and Brynlee Buckner; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Lou Ludwig and John Farley (Lola). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
