He was predeceased by: his parents, Caesar Merriles and Lucy Merriles; and his siblings, Ralph and Lucille. He is survived by: his children, Nani Mendoza, Diane Amaral (Mark), Duane Ignacio (Sandi) and Wesley (Sarah); and his sister Diane Wanner (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
