He was predeceased by: his parents, Takeichi Higa and Ruth Akamine. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Villena Higa; his children, Daylan Higa (Briana), David Quitugua (Kai), Juanita Quitugua, Malorie Sumic, Davin Sumic (Kristine), Danielle Quitugua (Matt), Theresa Quitugua (Ryan) and Aldene Okihara (Kasey); his siblings, Kathy Matsuda (Ted) and Dwayne Higa (Lisa); his siblings-in-law, Aquino Villena (Darlene), Danie Villena (Linda), Annafe Bernisto (Wilson), Vicky Valiente (Orlino), Elma Bruno (Ben) and Ester Acorda (John); his grandchildren, Alana, Anela, Nu'a, Shanelle, Luke, Melody, Jevid, Puengi, Davaiah, Kairie, Kalena, Rai, Izaiah, Damien, Tehani, Lilah Rose, Charli and Kristiana; and his great grandchild Ala'kai. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
