He is survived by: his parents, Peter Paul and Paulette Kaleonani Akim; his spouse Kaeo; his children, Keo'okalani Keao Peter Akim, Ka'iheokalani O Kaululehua Michael Akim, Kai'akula'iakeaolana'ikaula Joseph Akim and Kawa'akauluaikekailoaka'imina'auao'okaeomekaululehua David Akim; and his siblings, Josette "Kaleo" Akim Hanohano (Neal), Lynette "Lia" Ka'awa (late John), Shawnette "Shawny" Osborne (Kenneth), Tynette "Tiny" Akim, Jeremy-Paul "Akepa" Akim (U'i), Christian-Paul "Liko" Akim (Debbie) and Joseph-Paul "Aiwa" Akim (Carm). He is also survived by 9 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew.
Kaulu made significant contributions to his community through his diligent work at Pearl Harbor Shipyard for over two decades as a machine mechanic.
