He is survived by: his wife Ellen Okimoto of Papaikou; his daughters, Lisa Tano (David) of Portland and Kayla Okimoto (Chad Suzuki) of Hilo; his siblings, Dale Higa (William) of Pearl City, Oahu and Neal Okimoto of Keaau; his mother-in-law Eleanor Hirano of Hilo; his siblings-in-law, Susan Yamasaki (Brian) of Honolulu and Michael Hirano (Cathy) of Los Angeles, California; and his grandson Dominic Tano. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
