She is survived by: her husband Albert Nakaji of Papaikou; her sisters, Grace Yoshida (Greg) and Lisa Flaherty (Chris) of Hilo; and her brother-in-law Glenn Furuya of Honolulu. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Hilo, she was a retired Director of Services for Seniors, a member of the Hilo High School Foundation and previously taught at Hilo Community School for Adults.
