He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Alvarez of Pahoa; his children, Chential Santos (Robert), Dione Pacheco (Jesse), Alexis Alvarez (Kawehi), Phoebe Aila of Pahoa, Alec Alvarez (Brittany), Tyrel Andrews, Edward Williams of Pahoa, Junior Santiago Jr. and Bobo James Asuncion; and his siblings, Fernando Alvarez, William Alvarez, Anthony Alvarez, Wayne "Cody" Alvarez (Annie) of Hilo, Charles Bargas (Viola), Wilbur Alvarez, Mildred Alvarez of Hilo, Irene Flores (Bully) of Pahoa, Caroline Lamelas (Salvador) of New Mexico, Joanna Alvarez-Logan (Lyndell), Renee Abadilla (Rocky) and Darlene Marrero (Chico). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
