He was predeceased by: his parents, Katsuaki Yokoyama and Alice Yokoyama (Pai) of Waianae; and his brothers, SGT Robert "Masao" Yokoyama and Jimmy Yokoyama of Nanakuli, Hawaii.. He is survived by: his wife Winifred Yokoyama (Tamondong); and his children, Melvin Jr. Yokoyama (Rebecca) of San Diego, California, Michelle G. of Islip, Melanie (Reginald) of Gulfport and Melissa (Janito) of Volcano, Hawaii. He is also survived by Ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
