He is survived by: his wife Marion Hopfe Maikui of Ookala, Hawaii; his children, Mason Maikui (Eva) of Waimea, Alexander Alika Maikui, Jr. (Sophia) of Ookala, Yancey Dane Maikui (Ipo) of Hilo, Hawaii, Lee Ann Maikui (Delbert Whitney, Jr.) of Hilo, Noel Ah Choy (Sheldon) and Tisha Mahealani Maikui (Carl Sims, III) of Ookala, Hawaii; his siblings, Albert Maikui of Hilo, Hawaii, Elizabeth Eugenio (Mahoe) of Ookala and Betty Ann Souza of Nevada; and his sister-in-law Linda Maikui of Honolulu, Oahu. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
