He is survived by: his mother Virginia "Lani" Dumaguin-Kurashige of Honaunau, Hawaii; his sister Beverly Apina of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; and his nephews, Seichi Apina of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Christopher Apina of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
