He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold Morris Hastings and Ruby May Hastings; his former spouse Russie Walker; his children, Leslie Smith, Joel (Michelle Hastings), Scott (Mary Hastings), Holly (David Simmons), Dennis (Deedra Hastings) and Robin Hastings; and his stepchildren, Malia, CJ Day and Kawika Lee. He was also cherished by his 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
