He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Takaki (Cho); his daughter Heather Takaki; his grandson Kaipo Takaki-Jacobs of Kealakekua, Hawaii; and his siblings, Kenneth Takaki of Kailua-Kona, John Kiaha (Cherie) of Honalo, Elton Takaki of Ocean View, Sylvester Takaki of Kawaihae, Hawaii, Bernice Mitchell of Puuanahulu and Winona Elarionoff of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
