He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, Lena Ann Benito (Colby) of Honolulu and Victoria Hufford of Waikoloa; his mother Lily Kepano of Kaneohe; and his siblings, Danny Lopes (Charlene) of Kamuela, Quintin Kepano of Honolulu, Lamont Kepano of Reno, Nevada and Sweetheart Kepano-Schumaker (George) of Kaneohe. He was also cherished by three grandchildren.
