He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Victoria Kitchen of Kailua-Kona; his children, Michael Kitchen (Mariana) of Kailua-Kona, Robert Kitchen (Katy) of Buena Park, Stephen Kitchen of Kailua-Kona, Carolyn Melo (Eraldo) of Brazil, Elizabeth Young (Ernest) and Nicole Gomes (Roy) of Kailua-Kona; and his siblings, Timothy Kitchen (Lisa) of Pacific, Washington, Colleen Sasser (Jim) of Azusa, Maureen Blow of Monroe, Patty Forbes (Chris) of Overland Park and Nancy Norton of Tacoma, Washington. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
