He is survived by: his close friend Solidad "Sally" Viernes of Honokaa; his son Paul Shane Monis (Victoria) of Columbus, Indiana; and his siblings, Rafael Monis (Roseline) of Kapolei and Roselina Monis of Honolulu. He is also survived by four grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
