With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shikimi Hayama of Honaunau, Hawaii, born in Captain Cook, Hawaii, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shikimi left this world on December 6, 2024 at the age of 96, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Shikimi may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shikimi touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She is survived by: her sisters, Gail Maruyama of Honolulu and Jane Iha of Captain Cook; and her daughter-in-law Claire Hayama of Honaunau. She is also survived by two grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
