He is survived by: his children, Richard Onishi (Joni) of Hilo, Winfred Onishi (Eileen) of Hilo, Allan Onishi of Hilo, Dennis "Fresh" Onishi of Hilo and Lucilla Higa (Wendell) of Hilo; his sister Sueko Yorita of Hilo; and his siblings-in-law, Tomoharu Nakamura (Sue) of Hilo and Yayoi Nakamura of Hilo. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
