He is survived by: his children, Joyce Higashi Ikeda of Hilo, Noren Higashi (Pam) of Hilo, Irvin Higashi (Donna) of Honolulu, Grant Higashi of Hilo and Derek Higashi (Elaine) of Kailua-Kona; and his siblings-in-law, Sueto Matsumura of Kealakekua, Setsuko Wheeler of Honolulu and Margie Orimoto (Stanley) of Honolulu. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
