It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sawayo Ono (Hilo, Hawaii), born in Ookala, Hawaii, who passed away on July 10, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her daughters, Dianne Kameda (Harold) of Hilo and Arleen Tarnay (Charles) of Honolulu; and her siblings, Tetsuo Uratani (Nora) of Honolulu, Isamu Fukui (May) of Laupahoehoe, Thomas Fukui (Leoni) of Hilo, Donald Fukui (Carol) of Honolulu, Richard Fukui (Elaine) of Hilo, Lucy Ganeku of California, Kimiko Schreiber of Puna, Harumi Higashigawa of California and Nancy Delos Santos (Robert) of Honolulu. She is also survived by five grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
