He is survived by: his wife Janet Hirata of Hilo; his sons, Gregg Hirata (Leanne) of Hilo, Rick Hirata (Denise) of Hilo and Chad Hirata (Karen) of Hilo; his siblings, Lawrence Hirata of Hilo and Terumi Chock (Jackson) of Honolulu; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Yamada (Lois) of Hilo, Albert Yamada (Merle) of Waimea, Ella Hirata of Hilo, Eileen Hirata of Hilo, Evelyn Yamada of Honolulu and Dora Yamada of Honolulu. He is also survived by six grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
