He is survived by: his wife Emiko Katada of Hilo; his son Jon Katada (Joy) of Hilo; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Katada of Honolulu. He is also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
