It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Sakanashi of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Yorkville, Ohio, who passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Richard Sakanashi of Hilo; her daughter Lisa Yanagisawa (Donn) of Keaau; and her sisters, Betty Hudson (Karl) of South Carolina and Linda Scola (Ralph) of Ohio. She is also survived by two grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
