Maile Louise was loved and cherished by many people including: children, Damian Mattos (Kelly), Kevin Mattos of Hilo, Nathan Mattos (Ipyana) of Keaau, Michael Taylor of South Bend, Indiana, Bernadette "Bernie" Gillis (Darrell), Mary Lou Benevides (Gilbert, Jr.) of Mountain View and Kathleen Mendoza (Preston) of Henderson, Nevada; son-in-law Edward Souza of Hilo; and siblings, Bernard Waltjen, Jr. (Gail) of Discovery Harbor, Richard Waltjen of Kauai, Pearl "Nani" Kalilikane of Hilo, Jewel "Loke" Andrade of Pahala, Ellen "Mohala" Garcia of Hilo and Leimomi "Yonne" Moniz (Randy) of Keaau. Maile Louise was also cherished by 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
