We are sad to announce that on August 23, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Lydia Ah Hee Makuakane of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Pahoa, Hawaii. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Akima Hee and Annie Ah Hee; her siblings, William Ka'awaloa, Abraham "Froggy" Ah Hee, Albert Ah Hee, Edward Ah Hee, Dorothy "Lady Moon" Ka'uhane and Evangeline "Leilani" Waikiki; and her son Moses Peter Makuakane.
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Lei Kubo, Mildred "Pua" Enos and Winifred "Winnie" Enriquez; and her children, Junior Ah Hee, Elizabeth "Liz" Hansen, Annie Makuakane, Teresa Makuakane-Drechsel and Gail Makuakane-Lundin. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the University of Hawai'i Foundation, Daniel and Lydia Makuakane Endowed Scholarship and Fellowship.
