He is survived by: his wife Bernie Deguchi of Hilo; his stepchildren, Sheryl Chiquita (George) of Mountain View and Kevin Caravalho (Lizanne) of Kona; and his sister Iris Watanabe (Kiyoshi) of Torrance, Calif.. He is also survived by three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
