It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joyce Ayame Higuchi of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Joyce Ayame's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Joyce Ayame has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Yanagisawa (Gordon Mau) of Hilo and Stacey Ohama (Layne) of Hilo; and her sisters, Eleanor Oshiro of Vancouver and Ann Maesaka (Ronald) of Hilo. She is also survived by three grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
No flowers. In lieu of Koden (monetary offerings), a donation may be made to Hawaii Care Choices in memory of Joyce.
