He is survived by: his daughters, Joann K. Buffington (Loren) of Roscoe, IL, Susan N. Tamon (Greg) of Aiea, HI, Sandra N. Sumida (Dean) of Hilo, HI, Sharon S. Erwin of Seattle, WA and Gere Taira of Hilo, HI; and his sister-in-law Tsuruko Taira of Hilo, HI. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
