She is survived by: her children, Mervin Simmons of Kona, John Simmons (Cathy) of Hilo, Moses Simmons (Georgia) of Ocean View, Jeremiah Simmons (Barbara) of Texas, David Kaluna of Maine, Simon Simmons (Lisa) of Hilo, Carl Simmons of Honolulu, Joycelyn Binney (Anthony) of Captain Cook, Katherine Nguyen (Nam) of Mountain View and Evangeline Simmons of Honolulu; and her siblings, Joseph Nihau of Hilo, Julia Subica of Hilo, Shirley Nihau (Sydney) of Glenwood, George Nihau (Susan) of Nevada, Maize Lievens (Chris) of Hilo and Phillip Nihau of Hilo. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
