With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harold Hisashi Okihara of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on April 4, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Harold Hisashi departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Harold Hisashi may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Harold Hisashi leaves behind.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Okihara (Mavis) of Honolulu and Shari Kushi (John) of Hilo; and his sister Gladys Kuboyama (Minoru) of Honolulu. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a nephew and numerous cousins.
