He is survived by: his children, Ceceliaann "Cece" Evans of Keaukaha, George Akiu, Jr. of Piihonua and Francis Akiu (Donna) of Kansas; and his siblings, Cecilia "Ulu" Knowlton of Hilo, Elizabeth "Betty" Abbott (Lee) of Maui, Darlene Kakalia (Keala) of Hilo, Arthur Iokepa (Janet) of Hilo, Melvin Iokepa of Hilo and Wayne Iokepa (Kanani) of Kohala. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
