He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hiyoto of Hilo; his children, Mari Wakahiro (Brad) of Mililani and Brent Sumida (Kristi) of Hawaii Kai; and his siblings, Harry Hiyoto of Honolulu and Helen Tanioka of California. He is also survived by four grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
