It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek Morishita of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on November 4, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Shani Higa-Morishita of Hilo; his children, Amy Malson (Jonn), Gerrie Morishita (Blayne Matsui) and Jamie Morishita of Hilo; his brother Robin Morishita (Colleen) of California; his mother-in-law Mildred Higa of Hilo; and his sisters-in-law, Sheri Higa of Hilo and Deann Higa-Rivera (Danny Rivera) of Las Vegas.
