It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calisto Mateo (Hilo, Hawaii), who passed away on December 15, 2018, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Violet Mateo of Hilo; his children, Deborah Heidenfeldt (Brian) of Hilo, Calvin Mateo (Ronaleen), Thomas Mateo (Rae) of Hilo and Reynold Mateo (Erica) of Alaska; and his sisters, Martina Mateo, Shirley Mateo of Oahu and Maria Erece of Papaikou. He was also cherished by Eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
