He is survived by: his wife Irene M. Gomes of Hilo; and his sons, Bernard Gomes, Jr. of Seattle and Joseph Gomes (Elna) of Hilo. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
