He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Kamau of Hilo; his children, Richard Kamau (Anne) of Puna, Robert Kamau (Priscilla) of Hilo and Robin Mattos (Thomas) of Hilo; his sisters, Mary Fragas of Hilo, Lei Pae of Oahu and Margie Lerch of North Carolina; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Apaka of Hilo. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
