He is survived by: his wife Edna Watanabe of Hawi; his children, Evan Watanabe (Sweety) of Wailuku and Kim Kawakami (Kyle) of Kahului; his sister Ann Hiyakumoto (Mark) of Richmond, California; his siblings-in-law, Richard Nishimura (Carolyn) of Hilo, Ronald Nishimura (Grace) of Hilo, Glenn Nishimura (Katherine West) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jennie Hashiro (Robert) of Kahului; and his grandchildren, Taylie Kawakami of Kahului, Tai Kawakami of Kahului, Emma Watanabe of Wailuku and Erik Watanabe of Wailuku. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.
