He was predeceased by: his wife Helene Kawi; his children, Paul Kaiwi (Geraldine), Judy Kaauamo (Ekela), Leroy Kaiwi, Valerie-Jean Kaiwi and Annette Kaiwi; and his brother Joseph Kaiwi (Jerry).
He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline Woodward (Hayden), Aileen Carvalho (Clayton), Earl Kaiwi (Mae Dae), Roberta Kaupe (Duane), Lester Kaiwi (Harolen), Alvina Buist (John), Alvin Kaiwi (Selmahling), Patricia Pascua (Danny), Paula Kaiwi, Alan Kaiwi, Tammy Delima (Wayne), Sandra Baca (Nick) and Bridget Kaiwi; and his sisters, Ida Oliveira (Raymond) and Sophie Castro (Glenn). He is also survived by 62 grandchildren.
