He is survived by: his son Brandon Masanda (Delia); his stepgrandchildren, Diedre Peterson and Kalani Peterson; his grandson Preston Masanda; his brothers, Glenn Shimbauku (Cynthia), Dan Shimabuku (Donna), Jon Shimabuku (Rhoda) and Ray Shimabuku (Lisa); his sister-in-law Grace Shimabuku; and his nieces and nephews, Shane Shimabuku, Ian Shimabuku, Dain Shimabuku (Dale), Sheri Shimbuku (Spencer Lee), Rho, Wendy Early (Cy), Torie "Lani" Shimabuku, Amy Kamai (Kapena) and Mia A'i (Edward Jr).
