He was predeceased by : his parents, Arnold Hopkins and Doris Hughes Hopkins Bennett; his wife Cindy Deaton Hopkins; and his sister Peggy Wilson. He is survived by : his daughter Alicia; his son-in-law Brian Dorton of Forsyth; his sister Helen Ware of LaGrange; his brothers-in-law, Richard "Dickie" Deaton Sr. of McDonough, Willie (Sharon Deaton) and David (Sylvia Deaton); and his nieces and nephews, Richard "Richy" Jr. (Angela Deaton), Mike (Brenda Newman), Jeff, Tori Newman of Brooks, Nash, Shannon Deaton of Hampton, Nick (Stephanie Deaton), Kurt (Dawn), Bryan, Casandra Deaton of Zebulon, Missy (Tim Justice), Mesha, Carmen of McDonough, Kelly of McDonough, Laura Janak of Colorado, Kayla (Kenny Mann) and Brandy (Paul Burns).
