He is survived by: his wife Cherry Armstrong Nix; his children, Kelly Nix Watson and David Nix, Sr.; his wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Reverend David Nix, Jr. of Florida, Mary Kate Nix and Hannah Watson; his brother-in-law Matthew Armstrong; and his nieces and nephews, Amanda Armstrong, Matthew Armstrong (Charity), Paula King, Kathy Martin, Larry Harper (Kathy), Jennifer Davidson (Tom), Holly Harper (Steve Jennings) and Ronnie Harper.
