She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Kermit E. King and Christine Walker King; her husband Gene Turner; and her brother James Donald "J. D.". She is survived by: her sister Kathy Cline; her son James; her daughter-in-law DeAndrea Harper Jr.; her daughter Kathy Price; her grandchildren, Hannah Adcock, Jessie Harper and Joseph Alonso; her sisters, Reva Smith, Carolyn and Adolf Jett; and her sister-in-law Annette King. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
